Drop-In Season Is Here!
June 4 to August 28
Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
8:00 am to 6:00 pm
(Appointments only on Fridays and some Saturdays.)
During drop-in season, our counselors will meet with students on a first-come, first-served basis by video or phone. Drop-in availability and wait times will depend on the counselors' schedules. Drop-ins are always subject to change.
From June 4 to August 28, appointments will still be available on Fridays and select Saturdays (June 6, 13, 20). The following students may be ineligible for drop-ins and should make an appointment instead:
- First-time college students who haven’t attended a new student Orientation must schedule for a workshop
- Veterans looking to make a VA planner or ask about benefits must make an appointment
- Students with holds may need to make an appointment instead of dropping-in
New students should meet with a counselor to make an educational plan. Your educational plan will outline which courses you should take to meet your educational goal.
Please note: Students seeking appointments with EOPS/CARE, DSPS, CalWORKs, NextUP/Guardian Scholars, Umoja Diop or Puente Project should visit their program's specific web page to make appointments with their program advisors.
The Counseling Center provides prospective and current students with comprehensive academic, career, personal, and crisis counseling necessary to successfully reach their goals. The Counseling Center offers services to students who have a Cosumnes River College student ID number.
Counselors are available to assist you in clarifying and planning your academic goals. We can help you complete an educational plan for your certificate, associate degree and/or transfer curriculum. Human Career Development classes, taught by counselors, are designed to assist you in becoming a successful student. We can refer students with special learning needs to a variety of support services.
A career goal should be based on your own unique interests, personal values, aptitude, and life experiences. You and your counselor can explore and select the best major and career goal for you.
We recognize that life does not always run smoothly. Going to school and dealing with obstacles that sometimes get in the way, can be a stressful experience. For that reason, we provide confidential short-term counseling.
