A First-Time College Student

It's easy to apply to Cosumnes River College!

All California community colleges share a common application – simply create an OpenCCC account and fill out the online application for Cosumnes River College.

Submitting Your Transcripts and Test Scores to Cosumnes River College

Official transcripts from all other educational institutions (high school, college, university) must be submitted prior to enrollment to satisfy math and English prerequisites, as well as inform Veterans educational benefits and financial aid. Transcripts can be sent to the following address:

Transferring From Another College

You are a transfer student if you have previously attended college outside of the Los Rios Community College District (American River College, Cosumnes River College, Folsom Lake College, or Sacramento City College).

Returning to CRC or Los Rios

Welcome back! Returning students are those who did not attend Cosumnes River College or any other Los Rios college (American River, Folsom Lake, or Sacramento City College) during the most recent semester, but previously attended (after the absence of one semester).

Re-Apply

Returning students must first submit an application to be re-activated as a student.

Update Your Educational Plan

To update your student educational plan, please contact Counseling to schedule an individual counseling appointment. Please call the CRC main campus at (916) 691-7411 or the CRC Elk Grove Center at (916) 525-4300.

Enrolling in Classes

As a returning student, you are eligible for Priority 2 registration. You will have a priority appointment date for the first date and time that you are eligible to register (and then any time after that). The priority appointment date is a random assignment and can be found online at eServices.

A Current CRC Student

We are so happy that you plan to continue on your path to reaching your educational goal! Students who attended Cosumnes River College or any other Los Rios college (American River, Folsom Lake, or Sacramento City College) during the previous semester are considered continuing students for the next semester.

Update Your Records

As a continuing student, you are required to submit a Supplemental Enrollment Information form every semester/term you wish to enroll in classes. This form can be completed online at eServices, and has you review and update your contact information as well as education goal and major. Until the supplemental enrollment form is completed on eServices, you will have a hold on your account which blocks registration.

A High School Student

If you are currently a high school student, then you may be eligible to take up to two college courses per semester as an advanced education student.

A Veteran, Reservist, or Dependent of a Veteran

We assist veterans, reservists, and dependents of service-connected disabled or deceased veterans with their educational benefits. We have staff available to help you complete and file Veterans Affairs (VA) forms for federal and state education assistance programs.

An Undocumented Student

We define undocumented to include all immigrants who reside in the US without legal status. This may include students who:

  • Entered the US without inspection or with fraudulent documents
  • Entered the US legally but overstayed without authorization
  • Have or previously had Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) status
  • Are U Visa holders
  • Have Temporary Protected Status (TPS)
  • Are in the process of legalizing

Undocumented Student Admissions

An International Student

International students are defined as "non-immigrant" visitors who come to the United States temporarily to take classes. A non-immigrant is someone who:

  • Applies for a non-immigrant visa to be allowed entry into the US (without a valid green card)
  • Intends to stay in the US temporarily
  • Does not have US citizenship or legal permanent resident status (a valid green card)
