Cosumnes River College offers instruction via the internet, including online courses where all work is carried out online, and partially online courses where instruction is divided between online and on-campus meetings. In the schedule of classes there are two types of instruction method for online classes:
In these classes, all work is completed online.
In these classes, one or more scheduled meetings take place on campus. These meetings may include orientations, exams, or weekly meetings. The class schedule indicates when and where those meetings occur.
Taking an online class, whether fully or partially online, requires self-discipline, motivation, and the ability to complete required assignments on schedule. It also requires access to a reliable internet connection. If you do not otherwise have reliable internet access, you can use the computer labs on the main campus or at the Elk Grove Center.
For those who are new to online learning, a Self-Assessment Tool and introductory tutorial are available in a Canvas course set up for self-enrollment. Anyone with a Los Rios username can enroll.
