Los Rios Native Student Celebration is a Los Rios Community College district-wide event that celebrates the accomplishments of students that have earned a certificate and/or degree in the current academic year, and or are transferring to a four year university.

Keynote Speaker

Mikela Jones

Mikela is an enrolled member of the Little River Band of Pomo Indians located in Northern California. Although he is not a member, he is a relative of the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes of Duck Valley. Mikela serves as a School Principal and Education Director for a Tribe located around the Sacramento Area.

Mikela also does motivational speaking, wellness training, and job readiness consulting in his spare time. Mikela has lived by these words, "Success is not by chance, but by choice." He is making the choice to serve and help people whenever he can and that is the embodiment of success to him.
