Los Rios Study Abroad
Overview
The Los Rios Study Abroad Program helps students explore the world while earning academic credit and developing personal and professional skills. (Adventure and fun is included too!) All students and faculty come from Northern California community colleges, and classes are taught in English. Support staff are provided in each country for illnesses, counseling, and any questions or issues that arise. In most circumstances, students with US passports will not need a travel visa to participate in study abroad.
Minimum Participation Requirements
- 18 years of age
- 12 units of college completed (units do not have to be from Los Rios Colleges, but credit from AP scores and similar don't qualify)
- 2.25-2.50 grade point average (GPA); varies by program
- Be in good academic standing
Our programs are administered in partnership with the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS).
Understanding Semester vs Summer Programs

Summer program students will complete one 3 or 4 unit class. The class is taught by a Los Rios faculty member who organizes and accompanies the students. |
