The Nest is an on-campus Family Resource Center providing support to students raising families (student parents and students caring for family members of all ages). By providing one-on-one support services and a family-friendly environment, the Student Parent Community is strengthened through family engagement and intentional programming. Using a second-generation model, the Nest offers a physical and social environment to assist not only the student but their children as well.
Lactation Rooms
In order to better support students, staff, and faculty who are breastfeeding their baby, Cosumnes River College is pleased to provide lactation rooms.
A dedicated lactation room is available within the Child Development Center Building. The lactation room is private, has outlets, tables, refrigerator, and a changing table available for use. Contact the CRC Nest to coordinate regular access in advance.
Student Health and Wellness Services will provide a private room on request to utilize as a lactation room. Available during the health center hours. Students may want to call ahead to coordinate regular access in advance.
CRC faculty, classified professionals, and staff may be able to locate additional spaces appropriate to support your breastfeeding.
Diaper Changing Stations
For you and your child’s comfort and convenience, there are a number of diaper changing stations on campus.
Changing stations are located in the bathrooms within the gender-inclusive bathrooms located in the Child Development Center (CDC) and Library.
