Attention: Due to the pandemic and remote operations, the FYE program is on hold at this time. Please consider joining our other CRC special programs for additional support in the first year in college:
Welcome First Year Hawks!
The First Year Experience (FYE) program is open to all entering students graduating from high school. The program gives each new student a strong start to college by providing planning, support, and guidance as students begin their educational journey. Faculty and staff will help you succeed in finding the right classes for your major and intended path.
FYE will help make your first year engaging, successful, and empowering. Use this web page as a place to find the answers to your questions that come up as you are navigating through your first year.
Sign up for a New Student Virtual Orientation Session
You’ve applied to CRC and completed the FAFSA or CADAA application…now, it’s time to attend a New Student Virtual Orientation. This orientation session will go over the information needed to register for your college classes.

Peer Mentors Share Advice for First Year Students
Procrastination will hurt you badly in the long run. Start using a planner or calendar to track your progress and tasks, you may think you don’t need it, but it really helps during midterms and finals times. Also it’s extremely important to plan your classes at least one semester ahead of time. College is what you make of it, study hard, and participate in other campus activities too - you won’t regret it!
