The Medical Assisting program at Cosumnes River College has an average graduate and employer satisfaction rate of 100% for the past five years. In addition, the 2020 cohort had a 96% retention rate.

Students must complete the following courses, with a C or better, prior to admission in to the MA program. Courses may be "in progress" during the spring application semester.

AH 311* (3 units) Medical Language for Health Care Providers
BIOL 102 (4 units) Essentials of Human Anatomy & Physiology**
CISC 302 (2 units) Computer Familiarization
Eligibility for ENGWR 300 (3 units) College Composition
or ENGWR 341 (3 units) Introduction to Technical and Professional Writing
or BUS 100 (3 units) English for the Professional
or ESL 130 (6 units) ESL College English Preparation: Advanced-Low
MEDA 100 (1.5 units) Introduction to Medical Assisting

* course previously numbered as AH 110
**BIOL 100 or BIOL 430 and 431 may be substituted

Students interested in applying to the CRC Medical Assisting Program must submit a completed application, unofficial transcripts and a letter of intent to the Program Coordinator. All documents should be e-mailed to the Program Coordinator at burnsc@crc.losrios.edu. Applications and admission information will be available online each spring semester.

February 1 Application available online
June 15 Application submission deadline

Students who have been accepted in to the program will be notified by July 1 and will be required to attend an on-ground orientation prior to the beginning of the fall semester.
