CRC Music: In The Studio interviews the creative team of the docuseries We, Too, Sing America and screens a video on Sacramento-based composer Jacqueline Hairston. Created by Aural Compass Projects, this series explores 16 African American composers and poets who have contributed to the art song genre.

CRC Music Faculty Kurt Erickson and Omari Tau will be joined by internationally renowned countertenor and arts advocate Darryl Taylor, Sacramento composer Jacqueline Hairston, and Aural Compass Director Michael Lewis in this important and lively discussion.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, arts organizations are responding to quarantine with creative new ways of reaching their communities. The CRC Music Department is committed to serving our students and campus community with CRC Music: In the Studio, an exciting new, weekly series featuring innovative artists who are pushing the boundaries of their fields. The series also highlights student voices through a series of open mics and student ensemble performances.

Join us each Friday at 12:00 pm for this virtual series featuring a rotation of special guests, student performances, and workshops with live questions and answers.
