The math competency test is administered to students who are applying for an AA/AS Degree. The competency requirement may be satisfied by completing specific courses as listed in the graduation requirements section of the CRC catalog or by passing the competency examination administered in the Assessment Center. Students should consult with a counselor to determine if they are eligible to take the Math Competency test and which test they are eligible for, Elementary Algebra or Intermediate Algebra. Students will need to know this information in order to schedule an appointment to take the test. The Math Competency test is administered by appointment only. Math Competency - Elementary Algebra

The test is composed of 35 elementary algebra items. No calculators are permitted. It is administered using paper and pencil and is 30 minutes in length. Allow 45 minutes. A maximum of 4 attempts within a two-year period (2 times per semester, once in summer, 30 days between attempts) is permitted.

Math Competency - Intermediate Algebra

The test is composed of 20 algebra questions. No calculators are permitted. It is administered using paper and pencil and is timed for 60 minutes. A maximum of four attempts within a two-year period (two times per semester, once in summer, 30 days between attempts) is permitted.
