About the Program
We are pleased to offer a unique opportunity for students to study in and become familiar with one of the most popular cities in the world – London. For an immersive 3 weeks, students will learn how to write an essay or a research paper about the history of England and its rich cultural and artistic influences.
Following the classroom meeting each day, students will continue their learning by visiting popular sites such as the British Museum, the Imperial War Museum, the Shakespeare Globe, the Borough Market, and other well-known attractions and landmarks. Students will be able to practice their English language skills, while all students will learn to navigate a different culture—living in a student residence, shopping at English markets, and making full use of the outstanding public transportation system, the Underground.
Over the course of 3 weeks, students will gain familiarity with the river Themes, the Tower Bridge, the distinctive character of the city’s neighborhoods, and the varied architecture of the English capital. For the adventurous, London's centrality within Europe’s rail system will enable them to set out on their own for weekend excursions.
All program participants will come to know the famed English monuments, experience English cuisine and a variety of afternoon teas, enjoy live theater, and explore different neighborhoods. The opportunity to stop and dive into a culture for three weeks while studying the history and culture of a place is truly extraordinary. Participation in such a program will likely change how you see the world and your place in it.
