Police Reports The Los Rios Police Department is the primary agency for reporting and investigating all crimes that occur on district property. Any instances of criminal or suspicious activity occurring on campus should be reported to the Los Rios Police Department. The importance of timely reporting incidents and crime cannot be overemphasized. obtaining a copy of a police reportAllow 10 working days for the completion and processing of the report before requesting a copy of the report. All persons wishing to obtain a copy of a police report must fill out a "Application for Release of Information" available at any Los Rios Police Department office. All application will be processed within 10 working days from the date of receipt. There is a $5.00 charge for a copy of a police report. Student MisconductTo report suspected misconduct by a district student, contact the Los Rios Police Department. Lost and Found The Los Rios Police Department collects lost and found property. If you have lost something please contact the LRPD as soon as possible so we can have your information. We generally keep property for 90 days so if you have lost property contact us as soon as possible. Other Services
Citizen Complaint Process A citizens complaint is a formal allegation of employee misconduct within the meaning of California Penal Code section 832.5(a) which may result in a formal investigation. A Citizen's complaint may also be directed at established policy or operational procedures The Los Rios Community College Police Department welcomes valid complaints about its service or personnel. Your constructive comments provide an open channel of communication between the Los Rios Police Department and the campus community. They help us protect the campus community from possible misconduct, and to provide a basis for a thorough and impartial investigative procedure. It is the policy of the Los Rios Police Department, and the law, to accept and thoroughly investigate all complaints concerning the conduct of its personnel or operations, and to make available to the public a written description of it's complaint procedure in compliance with California Penal Code section 832.5(a) The following advisement is required by State Law You have the right to make a complaint against a police officer for any improper police conduct. California law requires this agency to have a procedure to investigate citizens' complaints. You have a right to a written description of this procedure. This agency may find after the investigation, that there is not enough evidence to warrant action on your complaint; even if that is the case, you have the right to make the complaint and have it investigated if you believe an officer has behaved improperly. Citizen complaints and any reports or findings related to complaints must be retained by this agency for at least five years. There are three ways to submit a complaint to the Los Rios Police Department. Disposition Your complaint will be reviewed by the Chief and will then be assign to an investigator(s) for investigation. After completion of a thorough investigation the findings will be reviewed by the Chief of Police. You will be sent a letter stating the finding of the investigation. |
