Crime Alert Bulletins will be issued by the Los Rios Police Department when a crime of a serious nature occurs or one that is considered to represent a threat to students or employees. A threat is defined as any act or potential act that places the campus community, at large, in continuing risk or peril, as a result of a crime(s) against persons or serious felony. (Example: Weapons of mass destruction, threats with a firearm, a bomb threat with specific information, sexual assault by stranger, or other egregious acts) When there is a possible public safety related “threat” to faculty, staff, and students on campus, the Los Rios Police Department and the Public Information Officer will make reasonable efforts to notify the faculty, staff and students. The Crime Alert Bulletin will available on the Los Rios Police Department’s Web site within 48 hours of the event, or as soon as practical, depending on the severity of the event, resources, and factual information gathered. Notices will be removed in a timely fashion after the event has subsided or the potential for danger is gone. The following are active crime alert bulletins in PDF format.
