Kyle
Shellabarger, 26, is entering his 5th year of coaching, his
first at Cosumnes River College. He comes to CRC after
spending two seasons as the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at
College of the Redwoods in Eureka, CA. Last season, CR
finished tied for 3rd in the Golden Valley Conference with an
overall record of 15-16, their best finish in almost 10 years.
Prior to joining the staff at CR, Coach Kyle served as the
Freshman Boy's Basketball Coach at Arcata High School in Arcata,
CA. In his two seasons at AHS, his teams had an overall
record of 36-8, winning the league title both years.
Coach Kyle grew up and graduated from Red Bluff High School in
Red Bluff, CA. He was a three sport athlete in high
school, playing football, basketball and baseball. In
college he decided to focus his time and energy on playing
basketball. After playing at the Junior College and NCAA
Div II levels, Coach Kyle began his career in coaching. He
earned his Master's of Science Degree in Kinesiology from
Humboldt State University in 2004.
Coach Kyle lives in Sacramento with his wife Shellie and their
two dogs, Hallie and Rosie. They are expecting their first
child this March. |
