Formed in September 2018, Friends of CRC (Friends) is a representative group of volunteer members who live and work in the Elk Grove/Sacramento region. Group members are dedicated community activists, interested professionals and valued volunteer leaders. Recruitment and selection of Friends members emphasizes diverse perspectives; members are drawn from throughout the region to reflect the needs and concerns of various ethnic, economic, and cultural groups within the greater Elk Grove/Sacramento area.
Friends of CRC is an essential partner in achieving the CRC Office of Philanthropy’s (CRCOP) mission “to build philanthropic support for Cosumnes River College’s educational mission of preparing students for an ever changing future, while empowering individual, corporate and foundation donors to realize their philanthropic vision. CRCOP manages giving opportunities and campaigns, community partnerships, donor stewardship, scholarship programs, and alumni and emeriti relations programs to raise resources to support student success.”
Membership in Friends of CRC is voluntary with no set term limits which allows engagement at a level which has meaning and impact to the member.
Friends of CRC will hold two annual meetings (during the Fall and Spring semesters) while committees will meet quarterly, or as needed. As well-informed ambassadors, Friends members are routinely solicited for their views and opinions and often influence decisions impacting the broader community.
CRCOP will provide quarterly updates to members via an online communication (newsletter, email).
