The college opened in 1970 with just a few thousand students. Today, we serve approximately 15,000 each year, with more than a quarter of a million students having passed through our doors over the last 49 years.

We mainly serve students from south Sacramento County, including Elk Grove and Laguna, but have students from around the globe come to learn from us. In addition to the main campus, we have an educational center in the city of Elk Grove.

Cosumnes River College offers several unique programs among public community colleges in the Sacramento region, such as Veterinary Technology, Sonography, Architecture, Construction, and Radio & TV Production.

When you come to our college, you will sense that we live our mission to provide an open access, student-centered environment where students realize their educational and career aspirations through our rigorous and inclusive atmosphere.

Whether you hope to transfer to a university, complete a degree or certificate, upgrade your job skills, complete a course for personal growth, or transition to a new career, our goal is to help you succeed. We invite you to stay close and go far by joining our community of learners and becoming a part of the CRC legacy.

On behalf of the Cosumnes River College community, we welcome you and thank you for entrusting us to help you reach your academic goals.
