Greetings CRC colleagues –
As you may or may not know, there have been several changes to the PD Committee Structure this year. In addition, we have slightly modified the changes made last year to the Individual and Group Professional Development allocation process. In particular, the work of the PD committee is being accomplished by three subcommittees. Julie Oliver is chairing the Convocation subcommittee, BJ Snowden is chairing the FLEX subcommittee, and Kale Braden is chairing the Proposal Evaluation subcommittee.
In addition, in an effort to be fiscally prudent and insure that we can continue to provide support for individual and group proposals for the next three years the PDC, following the District model, has developed the following plan:
The maximum allocation for an individual proposal has been reduced from $500 to $400 (a 20% reduction).
The committee will only fund the cost of early-bird registration fees - so plan early to achieve the greatest savings.
Unless there are compelling reasons, the maximum allocation provided for any single event/conference has been reduced from $1500 to $1200
The PDC does regret having to scale back its support. However, we believe that these changes will help to provide continued access to individual and group professional opportunities for CRC employees during these challenging fiscal times.
