As a sophomore, Andrea set the school’s single season scoring record of 22 goals, which still stands today. In addition to soccer, Andrea played on the tennis team her sophomore year. Andrea and her doubles partner, Elizabeth Zanolli (a basketball player) made it into the Northern California Regional Tennis tournament before being eliminated. She achieved in the classroom as well as in the athletic arena and graduated from CRC with honors in the spring of 1996.

Andrea transferred to U.C. Davis in the fall of 1996 to continue her academic and athletic careers. She played soccer for the Aggies and again was an outstanding contributor to her team. She enrolled in the Teaching Credential Program at Sacramento State University in 1998. While student-teaching, Andrea coached competitive soccer with Capital Valley.

In Andrea’s own words, "Participating in athletics has always had a positive impact on my life. Many skills and experiences were gained solely by being an active athlete. Athletics has not only provided numerous opportunities, but it has also provided me a significant amount of lifelong lessons applicable for the real world. Sports and exercise are necessary for the development of our children, and I feel only fortunate to work with young children to provide opportunities to enhance their lives". She received her Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis of Integrating the Arts into the Curriculum from Sacramento State in 2004.

Andrea resides in Elk Grove with her husband Ygnacio "Nacho", also a former CRC athlete, and their two children, Alejandro, four and Marcos one and a half years old.
