Charles Wilder begins his ninth year as a Hawk
basketball coach. Coach Wilder is a veteran specialist assisting
in several areas of the basketball program. Scheduling regular
season and tournament games, camps and leagues, fundraising,
recruiting, practice planning, game strategy planning, coordinating
the offense and defense, compiling and reporting stats to
CRC and the Commission on Athletics. He also assists during
games with personnel and game management, orders equipment
and supplies and assists students with academics and tutorial
services.
Coach Wilder has enjoyed success on every level of coaching.
He brings a wealth of knowledge from coaching for many years.
Coach Wilder's coaching background includes Air Force World-Wide,
Interservice International Touring Teams, and High School
AAU teams, a nine year coaching career at Center High School
where he assisted his team in winning several league titles
and making the playoffs six times. He has coached the eight
previous years at CRC.
Coach Wilder attends and participates in church activities
where he is on the board of teachers and deacons. He also
attends community forums and public meetings and is a member
of several community based groups. Coach Wilder is also a
member of the California Community College Men's Basketball
Coaches Association (CCCMBCA). When he's not involved with
basketball and other activities, he catches up on sporting
news by watching Sports Center on ESPN. He also likes watching
basketball, football, and baseball games as well as watching
the world news on CNN.
Coach Wilder and his wife Jean reside in Antelope, CA.
